Diversity & Inclusion Consulting
As a Visually Impaired professional with almost 30 years’ experience working within the changing landscape of recruitment and executive search, I am acutely aware of the increasing requirement to field a diverse workforce. Rather than focussing on gender and ethnicity, through CCS, I encourage attention to the disability agenda.
Why is the ratio of disclosed disability in the FTSE so low? How can businesses change what they are doing to educate their staff to create a more seamless route in for disabled people; Where might high potential disabled talent be hiding, and why isn’t it showing itself. These are some of the questions that CCS seeks to address on behalf of its clients.
A well respected Learning & Development director recently commented that their organisation would welcome the opportunity to retain the services of a provider who could guarantee access to high potential disabled talent. There is definitely justification to focus on generating such talent pools. In collaboration with government funders, third party recruiters and social impact initiatives, I believe we can change the talent landscape for the better, and for good.
The Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) landscape is being populated from all sides. Some themes are practically motivated and some are emotionally driven. What makes us wish to sing our individual situations from the rooftops, and what cautions us to tone them down and possibly even hide them from others.
I fully intend to use my partial sight, or ‘difference’ to walk the walk. I am part of a willing and able band of brothers and sisters who with the right empathy and reception will positively augment your workforce whilst adding to your D&I dashboard at the same time.
