As I approach the end of my work year, I have been reflecting on 2020 – the year that has brought into focus the true value of collaborating with like-minded people.
Last week I attended an inspirational and insightful webinar hosted by Meyler Campbell on positive psychology in coaching, which started with the following instruction; ‘Write down one thing for which you are grateful, and then one thing about which you are proud’. I first considered this in the context of the current year, but then widened the aperture to make it relate more generically to life in general. 2020 for me has certainly been challenging, but it has given me the time to reflect on what is really important to me, and where I feel I would like to take CCS.
Active associate relationships with KPMG, GHFM Consulting and New Horizons have continued to build, demonstrating the power of nurturing long term business relationships. Through these organizations I have not only confronted new challenges such as mastery of virtual technology, but I have also had access to some very impressive individuals with whom I have worked. I am truly grateful for these opportunities and combined with my own efforts to build my network of private clients, feel that CCS has broadened in scope, and deepened its expertise. Life certainly continues to be exciting, challenging and rewarding as a result.
This year has really impressed on me the importance of collaboration with like minds through the sharing of ideas, and I am proud to acknowledge the emergence of a very exciting team of soul mates with whom I connect regularly. This builds mutual learning, acts as informal mentoring, exchanges ideas, refers business, but most importantly makes life more interesting as we work towards an exciting collective future.
2021 will be about consolidating all the above and continuing my learning. The first proactive step being a course in early January to become a Motivational Maps Practitioner, and later in the year to embark on a Psychotherapy foundation.
I will also make every effort to get further involved with disability championing initiatives such as The Valuable 500, #PurpleLightUp and the work of the British Paralympic Association. Exciting progress to normalize and recognize the talents of disabled people is really gaining momentum, and I hope to continue adding my own weight and energy to these concepts, because there is still much more to do.
